The University of East Anglia (UEA) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the Allan and Nesta Ferguson Scholarship 2024.
This new scholarship opportunity is open to outstanding students beginning their studies at UEA in September 2024.
About the Scholarship
The Allan and Nesta Ferguson Scholarship aims to support a talented undergraduate student who demonstrates academic excellence as well as financial need. The scholarship covers the full cost of tuition fees plus accommodation costs for the three-year duration of the student's bachelor's degree studies.
The Ferguson Scholarship was established through a generous gift from UEA alumni Allan and Nesta Ferguson, who graduated in 1980 and now reside in London. The couple has fond memories of their formative years at UEA and set up this scholarship to help a promising student follow in their footsteps.

Eligibility and Application Process
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be starting their first year of a full-time undergraduate degree course at UEA in September 2024
- Have an outstanding academic record from secondary school
- Demonstrate financial hardship that would otherwise prevent them from attending university
The application process involves submitting details of academic achievements to date, a personal statement on career ambitions, an overview of extracurricular activities and awards, and household financial information. The deadline to apply is 19 April 2024.
